A lucky one really, I had to go over the moors to a meeting just on dusk and that's a sort of sea fog creeping inland up all the valleys. It's more usual it takes the form of low cloud scudding inland late in the day. (not pretty at all)

It's funny a lot of coastal places look like each other don't they. I thought it looked very like the steep sided ravine where Staithes is located near Whitby - although maize is a rarity round here especially near the coast (too chilly!) You can sometimes get clues from the style of buildings if there are any. Lots or pantiles at Staithes.

Lots or pantiles at Staithes. Gosh yes Do they make them locally? Do you ever put your pics forward to jigsaw makers?

I think the original reason the pantiles became a local style was that they were used as ballast in ships from Holland or something. Surprisingly a quick google didn't find anything to back this up though. But I have seen Dutch houses with the same profile. edit: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantile_%28roof_material%29I think barges took coal to Holland and came back with tiles, but they have beeen made locally too Agree the sunshiney header is very striking and has a strong autumnal feel. Quite clever to have partly obscured it with the tree, as this has allowed a bit more detail in the rest of the frame. Into the sun shots are always tricky but can be very dramatic like this.
