It's a big calf for an heifer, hope she's OK Maybe a certain amount of 'excitement' seeing the snow brought it on.

She's super, AOK?
Don't know why I said 'she' as in the third pic calf looks like a bull as Marshboy suggests..... are you back in the run of bulls I wonder?

Thats a good sized calf no assistance needed? Must be a bull. You are a better driver than me looking at your tin. You must muck out regularly? I blew the tin off the woods in one she once the muck built up to about 3ft.

No, no assistance at all. I only use that bay as a calving pen. The main barns get mucked out mid winter and then again once everything is turned out. I'm not 100% sure as the calf was rather sprightly when I was doing it's navel but I think it might be a heifer Could be wrong though ;D

I got a four month old bull in the crush the other day when it lifted up its tail and wee'd, it's so wild that was the first good look I got at it, still don't believe it, it's got quite a flappy navel too and really stong bull look. Hope you get your heifer.

She did very well and it was extremely fast. Nothing was happening when I checked first thing, came back with the intention of having a lie down and was informed your cattle are making a lot of noise.....best laid plans of mice and men. Went to check, both front legs and nose out......and were those legs twitching, within twenty minutes result. Really pleased she didn't need any assistance as it would have been an iffy one as to whether the vet would have got here. Seems really ironic that a heifer named Snow Princess calved early, on the day we had large amounts of snow and produced a heifer who will be Snow Princess 1st.
