Even if you don't much care for steam trains (like me) this is a bit special, with two running alongside each other on a run from Scarborough.

It’s an incredible film clip, but I’ve always felt intimidated by steam engines, esp being on a station platform as they pulled in.

It's interesting how the relatively old-fashioned Waltzers which were shunned for the 'big' rides have enjoyed a resurgence with the top rides resembling a high powered disco with stunning light show.
While the music and din is not everyone's cup of tea it's quite overwhelming and almost hypnotic as the cars race by.
A lot of these rides started life steam powered almost a hundred years ago, as they changed to electric they got faster. Some were converted to rides such as speedway with bikes that still used the dipping track and when faster still. Mostly they are now waltzer cars again, doing variations of the light show and dance music, but some are still moe sedate for family rides.
