I spoke to Bob last night and he tells me he is now on the maximum amount of tablets for the diabetes and is down to 13 although the medics want him within the 5-6 range. He also tells me there a further problems looming on the horizon as due to the diabetes he is going blind in the right eye. Although there is concern about it, they are not taking him into hospital as in Bob's words "it's not worth it". Nurses are coming in every other day and Bob says they are good. He is now wearing glasses all the time. He was also telling me about the stray cat's kittens and is hoping to put some photo's on in a few days

I had a very brief chat with Bob on Facebook last night (their chat facility was playing up), he told me he was ok but he'd had a bad week. Apparently no matter how good he was his sugar levels had shot up to 20. The kittens are all well and his little cat is a 'brill mother'. Round about then 'chat' gave up completely.

I spoke to Bob this week...once he'd got his line back on and he was telling me he'd had rather a horrendous fortnight, as the Doctor's had taken him off all his medication and the pain had been really bad. They have now put him back on eighteen (I think that's right) morphine a day which has made a great difference. Despite all this he still remains his chirpy self and tells me he's not going yet, he still has things to do, which I'm very pleased about

I've spoken to Bob on Skype this evening and he's feeling somewhat better. He has been given hearing aids which although he's not too keen on them have had an effect on his quality of hearing. He was also given injections at the beginning of the week for the pain in his legs. He was told that it would take a fortnight to take affect but is feeling the benefit already which is a big plus after the severe pain he was in before. The one thing which hasn't changed is his sense of humour ;D He tells me he has now got a new push wheelchair as the old one was condemned, it's wheels were giving up the ghost and disappearing down the cracks in the slabs tossing him out, but he didn't mind he'd got used to it. Apparently his Pleco's in his fishtank have been breeding and tomorrow he is swopping some of them for Fire Guppies which he is looking forward to. He's also hoping to drop in and see Phil, so things are looking a lot better at the moment.

That's good news, it's a rather depressing time of year for many of us with less problems until Spring seems near, so a good thing he's feeling more positive now.
