This is how much they got done yesterday. The guy who is driving the combine, Cookie, is great but he works for our local contractor, Ropey. Cookie was all ready to come straight to us from the last job at a farm about 5 miles away and Phil rang him early yesterday to say we were ready. His boss, Ropey, then phoned him a couple of hours later to say not to go to us but to go the other way 5 miles to do 4 acres for someone else... Which of course he had to do, hence not getting to us until late. We reckon that cost Ropey £1,000 in cash flow, as it's unlikely we'll get all ours finished today and Ropey has another, (even older) combine he could have taken to the smaller job and got that done leaving Cookie to get on with ours. Which is why Ropey is still a relatively unsuccessful contractor compared to some .... !!

I drove 'em there, Bob but bet they wished someone else had!! Here's a photo taken this morning of the winter wheat, which was drilled three weeks ago directly after we harvested the maize - 'fraid Ava had to get involved as well..

The collapse of Dodgy Bridge! Temporary fix about to be made ... Strangely, in the second photo, there's some strange yellow light....
