I just haven't got a clue what to get anyone this year! Usually there's some inspiration or hints dropped, but no-one seems to have any ideas of what they'd want either. Will Christmas end up being a great "money/voucher" exchange?

For an easy and interesting read, I'd recommend Mike Pannett's books on his experiences as a country bobby in the Yorksire police force.

The mobile library comes around every third week and I started on the Miss Read books about "Thrush Green" village in the Cotswolds.......... a nice gentle bedtime read with some interesting characters - I'm definitely 'Dottie' ;D I bought my primary teacher daughter a copy of Village School so she can see how lucky she is these days to not have to prime the water pump and fill the solid fuel heater
