Farmwatch report received from Suffolk Police today: A female pig was stolen from a field in the Dunwich Forest area between 7pm on Thursday 11 and 8.30am on Saturday 13 October. It’s thought the 80kg pig was killed and dragged from the field – possibly to a vehicle that was waiting on the Westleton Road. Police are asking anyone who was in the area between these times to come forward if you noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles. Anyone with information about the theft, or the thieves, is asked to call PC 356 Metcalf on 101 quoting reference LE/12/1223. I would think that it is most likely that this was taken from www.freerangepork.co.uk although I can't find any mention on their website/facebook or twitter pages. I guess anybody with livestock out in the field need to be on their guard....
