I was quite surprised to see these sunflowers suddenly opening as they had been rather forgotten in some weeds Fancied sunflowers and was thinking 'tall' as that's part and parcel of them really, but the only ones left were dwarf. There were only about a dozen seeds in the pack too - meanies! Anyway they are actually quite appealing at about 18" tall and throwing out lots of side shoots rather like a bushy mound of flowers to come. Should be able to save seed and grow lots next year! Other eye-catchers are these pelargoniums. We have grown this variety from cuttings year after year since about 1980! They were being uprooted late summer to plant wallflowers by the council on West Cliff at Whitby. There was a call in the local paper to trace any survivors as they had been lost to mainstream nurserymen who grow hybrids from seed annually now rather than propagate cuttings. Several other people still had them so ours weren't called on. Only three plants survived last winter as I was too late taking cuttings. Have six already rooted this year and these could be taken in and overwintered as they are in a large pot. The nasturtiums look good 'decorating' a dry stone wall. Sometimes they go mad and smother it in a mound of leaves and flowers which is quite nice - but like this with trails of flowers is better IMO.

Click for full size. I don't understand why these appear as thumbnails when I tick the 'don't resize my image' box If you upload them independently by using postimage.org/ in a new tab, you get these options after uploading: Copy the direct link and then insert it here using the image button A sensible max size is 1024 on longest side, 800 might be better for quick illustration type image. You can do this before (=quicker uploading) or select the desired final size from the drop down list when you upload. I do recommend starting a free account, you can then create albums of similar things, and have the option to link to them. e.g. postimg.org/gallery/1m9726ge/It also acts as a back up and store for favourite pics (but please not your ONLY back up!)

Thanks 4wd might just do that! I'm resizing anyway to 800 when I save pics ready to post. Still it seems a bit odd to be given the choice in the little box that appears after clicking the 'add image to post' button and then it not apparently working.
