The link below gives access to a series of short videos taken by drone, at the Steam Boat Association's Windermere Week. I don't think the driver's photography skills are a patch on 4WD's but the subject matter has a certain charm. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGwrZFBlVTU&list=PLEKFiIzvqG_yi2d29_05qk6G3DSRDJhViThe boats vary from 1 to 110 years old, and the engines cover the same range, although some new boats have very old engines, and vice versa. The occasional puffs of steam visible are when the boat's whistles are sounded: there was one boat present which "puffed" like a steam locomotive, but I don't think she's been video'd anywhere, and all the rest have condensers, so no steam from the funnel.

What's striking is how rapidly they move and turn, not an easy thing to follow! Also taking off from a moving platform has a host of technical issues (e.g. when it starts up it needs to precisely determine it's start altitude and location from GPS - to within about a metre so a boat is problematic). Lovely location to do video or photos of any kind - on the few days not rainy
