More great pics, 4wd - and future headers Agree about ‘vandalism’ - I’d hoped Brits might wake up to the fragility of food supplies when discussing Brexit or global warming. Most are still in dreamland

This year's selection of flint fragments picked up on fields - top left is jet though. Flint doesn't occur locally so was carried here at some point, the fragments mostly have at least one useful sharp edge and will still cut bale strings for example - but they may just be waste from making a more spectacular tool.

This wild mint is showy enough to be in a border this year and stinks to high heaven. I asked for ID on a local facebook botany group, but they haven't been very helpful so far.

Newburgh priory entrance this afternoon. It's claim to fame is that various body parts of Oliver Cromwell are buried here - but not all of him. I was born just over the road in a farm cottage which I see is still there but Grandad's cow byres are now holiday lets. Oliver Cromwell's demise was nothing to do with me. Some bigger boys did it, then ran off.

Last dregs of autumn colour, looking south over Ryedale from Farndale - it was foggy all day lower down. The yellowy colour on horizon - but it was setting sun catching it not pollution or smoke

This is from 2004 but I was looking through some old shots from first half decent digital camera which had been transferred to DVDs then put away for a good ten years. I did a bit of noise reduction and deliberate blurring but the colours aren't really changed It's basically a line of showers in the sky usually called Virga.

I enjoyed the video 4wd. I remember the one you made going to the sale.barn a while back. I'm surprised at how open the countryside is. Thanks for taking the time.
