Can anyone recommend a free management software programme for Beef cattle? What I'm looking for is something to list the pedigree sucklers, AI'ing dates, births, treatments etc.

Have you tried setting something up in Excel? With a bit of research for formulas, it's very good at calculating due dates, ages etc everytime you open the sheet. If you don't have MS Office there's www.openoffice.org which is freee and very similar. Also google docs allow you to do spreadsheets online and store in the cloud as back-up.

perhaps I should have put 'and simple' I've seen one that is used for dairy cattle, but it's not free and half the details would be irrelevant for beef. It manages everything right down to requesting passports, notifying movements and producing pedigrees, so it must be linked into everything including holstein uk. I have got excel but it sounds pretty daunting, I might be getting there....slowly...but I'm not there yet

A month ago I decided to purchase modern software for management of agriculture, www.agrivi.com/ , which greatly helped in planning, controlling and analyzing the entire business, including the management of beef cattle. My advice is to thoroughly explore the whole market with the latest and all kinds of software that will help you greatly in management and achieving positive results in all areas of the business on the farm.
