I spoke to Bob last night and he was telling me that he has to go to the hospital tomorrow (Thursday) for dialysis. This will then be a weekly trip. He also tells me that the Parkinson's is now full on and they have given him meds for this. Even though this gives Bob more tribulations to bear, he is in good spirit and informs me that he and Maureen have rescued a five month old cat, so he now has three that lay on his bed.

Three in the Bed.....................& the little one said? We have managed to get down to see Bob & Maureen quite a bit over the last few months...& Peter (FF) has been down to see them as well. When we visited a couple of weeks ago Bob was on top form, despite being in considerable pain with his shoulder! Bob gave me some useful tips on how to sort out my plough...& we spent "one or two minutes" talking tackle! The kids have become quite close to Bob & Maureen, particularly the youngest pair! They certainly know how to make Bob Laugh...& vice versa! I can't think of two better people to have as friends! Bob is still, and will always be, an inspiration to us all. Phil, Jane & the Gang.

I've spoken to Bob this evening and he informed me that he had to have a visit to the hospital due to not being able to breathe, his Parkinson's also decided to come full on. The outcome is that his air machine has now been increased from 12 to 16 and he has oxygen in case it is needed. He also now has a nurse who comes in for two hours twice daily, morning and evening. Despite all this he is still in fine fettle.

I had a chat with Bob this afternoon and he was telling me that he had to remove his wedding ring yesterday as his fingers and hands are swelling and his ring was cutting into the skin, this is partly to do with his arthritis. He tells me it took half an hour to remove it and Maureen was prepared to cut it off which Bob didn't want. As Bob is experiencing quite a bit of pain when any part of his body is touched, it was not a pleasant experience but he persevered. He is on maximum pain killers without going onto Morphine which Bob is resisting at the moment as he wants to keep his mental facilities about him and is looking forward to the summer and being able to get out and about in the new car. Maureen was busy this afternoon planting up the front borders with marigolds and night scented stock. An archway was put up yesterday and Bob and Maureen choose two honeysuckle to go over it which she was also planting, Bob told me that they both liked the particular flowers they had chosen and he was looking forward to the scents from the stock and the honeysuckle. He remains in fine fettle.

Bob was going for a scan last tuesday, according to his BFF post. Anyone any idea how he got on?
Fingers crossed that the medics in charge of your treatment will be able to balance the drugs and make life a bit easier for you, Bob.

I spoke to Bob again last night and he has an appointment for the specialist on Tuesday. However he did say that things were not looking good regarding the parkinson's. Apparently all the medications he is on are reducing his immune system and the only recourse will be morphine. I will speak to Bob after his appointment with the specialist.
