A for Aeroplane engine someone left lying around in our new building B for Bannisters in the main stairwell to that building. B is also for "Blimey-I'm-amazed-this-came-out-OK". Hand-held in almost total darkness - so I'm showing off over the effect All photos taken around 9pm this evening.

Easy one for starters: Aconites - one or two have been out for about a week. 58 Anti-Dane defences. (Am I allowed to say that?) At Ease! Ewes smugly (and snugly) in their yard. Berries on a Monkeypuzzle. Anticipation! Clumps of Leucojums in the wood, with a few daffodil leaves as well. Actual snowdrops in the wood (several weeks later than the first ones in the garden, especially the snob varieties, of which we now have a couple). Boootiful! (If you happen to be a Norfolk mud-lover.) This is where the hay rack for the ewes was standing until last Tuesday - I've seen worse, and it'll soon recover, but it's a real mess at the moment. Andean mole hills in the ewes' sacrifice field. They're soft still, so I should be able to chain-harrow them out fairly well. Attitude is all! Stock ram + 3 ram lambs steadily eating hay inside their shelter, though they do still have some grass, and that field isn't too muddy with only the four of them in about an acre.

Bad Boys I think they are hinting a fresh bale is required... These are the group weaned about ten days ago and they are due to be moved to the big shed any day.

These were planted late 2013, so this is their second year - and they seem to be producing clumps of flowers which open over quite a long period - the first ones shown here very early for us at 9th February. They are quite fragile though and the wind beats them up in no time. They are by the house gable wall so have also suffered dollops of mortar from a great height - but still struggling on and looked happier after i scooped up most of it!

The little irises (Sibirica) are in full bloom 167 The slightly darker ones are perhaps more stylish, but also less vigorous While the similar sized Danfordii very rarely come back in our garden, but are cheap enough to regard as annuals I think the garden aconites are about at their peak Lambs continue to arrive & look contented. and most of their mums are too though the remaining one or two are going to have to get on with it before their udders start scraping on the ground. Damson thinks it's all very boring

And D for the little Davy Brown which we keep at another farm for feeding the ewes in the winter. She's mostly indoors all year round but had been left out for some reason.
