A good few older images here are hosted with photobucket especially headers, they are almost certain to suddenly become unavailble without warning. Photobucket seem to be wanting an annual payment, and it is a ridiculously high price (£100s) so not sure what they are thinking. An alternative back up is in waiting but it will take a while to replace them as they are spotted.
Postimage used to attach when posting isn't affected but they are probably watching!

Photobucket clearly have to make money to stay in business, and I've always been doubtful about the viability of their business model, but the latest attempt to get everyone to pay $399 per year seems like corporate suicide.
It may be that other hosting sites have the same problem, and may also try to introduce charging, but perhaps at a more realistic rate than Photobucket. On the other hand, mass data storage is getting steadily cheaper, so it's likely that most forums would be able to host their own pictures without much extra expense, particularly if they were all cropped and compressed before uploading.

Joyce's OH did his bit a couple of days ago and put all our banners onto another site imgbox.com that 4wd 'found'. I can still see our photos on PB but a pop up appeared on my iPad saying it had a virus and click here.... I turned ipad off completely and then turned on and updated whatever had been waiting (iOS10.3.2). How do I know if there is a virus?

It's probably just a tricky advert wanting you to click through to a virus removal site, I'd be surprised if iPad is not reasonably secure by default. Photobucket have maxed out every advertising option for a while if they can get you on their site.

Oh, nice surprise - WR's pic back at the bottom of FD

Yes, nice to see the pups are back. All my pics on forums have been zapped and I can't access pb anymore. Good ole Joyce's OH. Glad he's feeling up to scuppering pb's dastardly plan. I've logged off their site, deleted their "shortcut" and turned the key in the lock.

We thought some of the smileys were hosted with them but not sure now? They seem to be all working for me but hard to remember if one has disappeared altogether. There were some specoiial Christmas ones probably only put on temporarily.
