At first I thought he had cheated here and combined two or three photos but it's not - East side of Whitby taken with big zoom from across the Harbour. (Glen KilPatrick)

His colour original looks more 'normal'

This is just a couple of miles away from here, he was trying to take a pic of his car and got photo-bombed by low flying sheep

I think photographer has an assistant threw the veil up then darted away - unless it was windy!

I think photographer has an assistant threw the veil up then darted away - unless it was windy! Not a result of the previous (hen) night's vindaloo?

Near Elterwater, the hint of mist makes it look like a watercolour painting (not mine)

This former guest house now holiday flats occupies a very prominent position at Whitby West Cliff. A very striking design but part of the reason it looks so 'right' is they accurately mimicked the silhouette outline of the Abbey ruins opposite down to surprising details. The rear is far more boring but due to the steep slope unusually you can go down at least two floors from the 'front' approach. On the old image you can see the lean to part has a glass roof, the original owner used this as a studio for art and photography. It is covered in slates now but a local builder doing work inside recently said he was amazed to find the original glass roof is still in place under the slates.
