Common as muck but both nicely composed little groups. I think it's tufted vetch.

Fibre cabinet woohoo. They think it could be three months yet though It's about half a mile from here with fairly direct line so would hope for decent connection.

I'd got a number of cuttings away at one year old from this last year, but when two tups briefly were near it last October they seemed to find them irresistible and only one is still alive. They ate this original plant back a bit but I suspect it almost did it good. I seem to struggle with 'formal' lavendar cuttings in a pot but if I stick bits in they grow? They aren't exactly difficult as a rule.

This was taken 29th June when it had just arrived down the moor in somewhat mysterious circumstances. It's still there only inevitably after a couple of weeks someone had broken windows to get in and if they don't shift it soon no doubt it will mysteriously spontaneously combust - taking a few acres of moor with it. If its not insured you would think another system should step in and remove it within days. Originally it could still have been driven once got back to the road it only had damage to bumpers.

Finished at weekend - except for guttering. The wall end here was originally a massive pillar because a heavy beam rests on it inside. The entrance was kicked uplike that some 20 years ago so it was possible to muck most of it out with tractor, now that could be done with smaller bobcat but it's still much easier to drop round bales in when it's raised so have retained that.

The bright star in the southern sky just now is Jupiter, with binoculars or a zoom lens you can see the four moons. I think the wind was vibrating it a bit (or could be atmospherics - heat haze?)

What's the faint writing behind the tractor post, 30th July?

What's the faint writing behind the tractor post, 30th July? It's just some software I had been playing with you can add various textures like canvas or brick too, then fade them down to produce an enigmatic effect

One of my favourite views I am surprised this spot isn't much more visited so should probably keep quiet. You might just make out three fields below have been covered in plastic tree guards but 90% of them are dead. To me it's near vandalism anyway to plant such large areas of hard won farmland. A few in the corners or edge by all means. There's a striking conical hill feature left from the ice age would be hidden if they ever do grow away.

A moderately interesting drone shot looking down Eskdale towards Whitby - late yesterday - but in fact there's a fairly well known historic feature in the heather. The circular ring of stones is a roundhouse(?) and surrounding field system. You could walk through it and not realise. historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1018990
