I would think the vast majority are perfectly capable of realising this for themselves and don't need telling what to do. The same is true for all the imposed restrictions really. That is basically the Swedish model for the most part they just kept everyone informed and advised what was risky. While their rates are higher than more thinly populated neighbours, compared to most of Europe they are doing no worse.

I think the Christmas danger is being a bit overhyped when you consider schools and many workplaces will be closed for most of two weeks it probably counterbalances cautious family get togethers.

Ceredigion has lots or rural space and was very low in the Covid stakes...... until one or more? visitors arrived and are still arriving from G knows where. Gatherings were enjoyed, cautious they were definitely not. Uist only needed 2 to start it off there. Seems as if their track and trace has worked, but again well spread out living conditions and plenty of fresh breezes off the Atlantic. Cities are not so blessed. Personally I think we have had plenty of info and Boris et al should just tell us all to do whatever we like.
