well worth taking a snap, do you eat them? That was new to me - looked it up in case you were pulling my leg www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Alnus+rubraIt's not even listed in my Food for Free I have to say they really are the best I've seen them, but not sure I fancy a meal.

I think hazel is so pretty in the spring, buds as well as catkins. Mine is much later than the alder though.
