A few (bad!) photos of the 'E' reg heifers, who I have all together at the moment as we're pushed for space! Front left is the nosy new girl we bought the other week and front right is our showing hope, Empress, who happens to be the youngest in the pen. The all white heifer is Eira, also entered up for showing. This is Ermintrude - she's a bit of a thug and top of the pack, closely followed by the new recruit, Elma...

I also missed them. A bunch to be proud of. Good name for the white one - Eira. Meaning Snow in welsh as I'm sure you knew when you named her.

Yes, we did know it was 'snow' but she was also named that because the very nice lady who does the telephone pedigree registrations (run by the Holstein soc on their database) is also called Eira. She'd mentioned the year previously, when we were registering 'D's, that her name meant 'snow' which would be good for a white blue in '10 so it was a goer!
Thanks for the encouraging comments - we've been quite busy halter breaking them recently (my right arm is suffering a bit) and the job this week will be starting to wash them...

Washing I remember it well, if I went any where near my neighbour Dave K when he was getting his team of AA ready I'd be roped in to help wash them, I'd be stood there up to my elbow in lovely brown coloured soap suds in all weathers getting them clean, what fun.!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly he's no longer with us so I just have sheeps bums to clean now.
