Good Morning everyone . It's dry, overcast and slightly chilly in comparison with the last few mornings. Hopefully the barn gate can be opened into the nursery paddock today so that the bucket calves can have a bit of a yippee doodle after their confinement in the barn for the last two days. Still waiting on the puppy front but they can't be much longer, she says optimistically. Whatever your doing today, have a good day and stay safe.

Morning everyone! Cloudy and a little drizzly here but warmer than yesterday. Correction - it's now starting to rain proper! Clamp silage in yesterday and sheeted - well, most of it anyway, which is good. Still quite a bit to cut before next week though but weather forecast is looking good, so should be OK. Farrier here yesterday to trim the four foals - O that was fun... They are fine to have their feet picked up in the stable and out in the field by us but as soon as Mike arrives, they turn into horrible spoilt varmints. I have several new bruises this morning and an aching back..... I am feeling quite pleased I haven't put anything back in foal for next year now...!

Good morning everyone. Cloudy and damp here, not much breeze, shouldn't have put a load of towels in the washer last night. You seem to have been awaiting pups for ages stockslave - when were/are they due? I'm dying to see some photos of the babies. On May 21st it was 18 years since my only collie litter, the last boy died 3 years ago and is still missed. - mine does same oxenboy - or possibly in case I find more chores also Have a good day.

It seems to be taking ages Joyce, they were due as from Saturday, but ofcourse the actual date could be anytime this week. She's obviously thinking about it as there's a lot of nesting going on (and not a lot else). I will post photo's when they eventually arrive but it will have to be on BFF as I still haven't managed to get photo's on here (hence no avatar).

You snuck back quietly stockslave They are taking their time but no doubt will turn up when fully cooked I made a half hearted attempt at a photo but will need to be in a mood to concentrate so know what you mean. My friend rescued a very young cat heavily in kit.... 2 dead kittens were born and a week later 2 live ones.....weird but apparently not unknown for 2 matings to happen. We think the mother still has her baby teeth so likely not more than 6 months old herself.

Morning all, it is raining like cats and dogs here in Tiverton.
We need it though. I tell you it was a miserable and rather intimidating morning waking up in Exmoor this morning I can tell you, low lying mist and very cold.

No no, I'd never live there, thats where the hound of the Baskervilles lives isn't it? Not my thing at all.
To be honest, Dartmoor is a lovely place, but bleak in the winter, only hardy folk can survive there.
I've been there on numerous university day trips, you have to see it to believe the atmosphere of the place.

Proper rain here all morning - we do need it, though.
Nice when it rains the day after you've just waved the forager goodbye for a few days!!

Afternoon all, got here eventually today, just getting ready to take mum to have tracer wire put in ready for op Friday, roll on the weekend.
Did manage to buy an Angus bull at market yesterday, went straight out on hire so thats a good thing, could still do with another sussex bull though. Have to keep looking.
Wet and quite chilly here today, pretty miserable actually. Poor youngsters we turned out aren't looking very happy.
Have a safe day everyone.
