When cutting hay we always destroy a few pheasant, duck and turkey nests. I have tried hens and incubators but without much luck, too wild when hatched. Here's a hen from earlier this summer :

Hi Mcfarmer, Lovely hen and chicks - what breed are they? I still haven't got the knack of posting a photo - any tips gratefully received. The black hen is quite old and smallish, daughter of a Scots Grey bantam and a larger un-remembered cockerel. The 2 turkey chicks peeking out [there's a third underneath] are Norfolk Bronze. Joyce

Joyce I think they are Hamburgs of some sort. We have a mix of hens and a Spangled Hamburg rooster. Don't put yourself down, your doing a darn sight better than I am. Once you have a photobucket account it's pretty easy. Let me know if you would like help. I used imageshack for my avatar, but can't get a connection to it today so registered on photobucket where this hen photo is.... when I click on edit above the photo nothing happens, I thought I might be able to enlarge it there........ Although I went on 'blind' I did then check 4WD's post about pictures and discovered I had found the page he posts about and clicked on the 'correct' link..... as in message 5 on this thread farmingdiscussions.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=p&thread=374&page=1Might have a go with another pic...but any advice - yes please McF!

If you have dial-up the edit functions are very slow. Once you have the photo in an album put your cursor over the photo and a list of options will appear below. One of them should be "IMG code". Move the cursor over that, left click on it and it should highlight. Right click on it and select copy from the choices. Go to your already opened message, left click somewhere and select paste.
I get really frustrated when computers won't do what I think they should but usually it's something simple (like me).

OK followed above instructions, but can't understand why it is so small - I even found 'resize' but it reverts back when I click 'apply'. I've even emailed the same photo from my computer and it is quite a 'normal' size..... I'll try a different photo from scratch!

Why do I get the feeling we've unleashed a monster ? Good photos and hope to see more of them, each worth a thousand words as they say.

I've tried about 100 times with the bl**dy hen photo and other ones of her which I hadn't edited in any way. The spot the pheas is in the same album, taken same day etc...... I hate being beaten! Might leave it tonight as getting very frustrated!!! Thanks anyway McF - at least I know I can do it sometimes

that must have been an accident - click on photo and it actually goes to a bigger one so the chicks can be seen poking out from the hen's feathers
