I suppose it could be argued that more diffuse generation from windmills and solar panels is actually helpful rather than the mainstay being a handful of very large coal and gas stations, that might breakdown or be somehow shut down by terrorism. The problem is the fluctuating nature of those sources means we still need gas or nuclear fully maintained and on standby to jump in within seconds.
The greens want to make us even more dependant on electricity generated by all those foreign owned wind farms power plants with proposals to ban use of coal, oil, gas and even wood burning completely if they get their way. You will also not be allowed real food but need to buy fungus based protein sludge products from a factory. The more extreme greens want to relocate most of the population into dense urban areas because this is easier to supply services without emitting CO2. I liked them better when they worried about whales and advocated good-life style home grown veg and maybe chickens in your back garden.
