Wacky title but here's an interesting bit on BBC news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8037500.stmAll the talk of billions and trillions in the economy - scaled down to an average income and it's no more than £300 a year difference

A bit OT but that's what we do here........... Since when did a billion become 1,000,000,000 i.e. a thousand million; years ago it was 1,000,000,000,000 i.e. a million million. And who's to blame?

where can i borrow that much money This is doing the email and text circuit at the mo'. AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER Dear Mr. Darling, Please find below my suggestion for fixing Britain's economy. Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan : There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force. - Pay them £1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations: 1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fixed. 2) They MUST buy a new British CAR. Twenty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed. 3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed. 4) They must send their kids to school / college /university - Crime rate fixed 5) Buy £50 of alcohol / tobacco a week there's your money back in duty / tax etc It can't get any easier than that! P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back there falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances. ANALASYS by Drotchen & Honey. While the above looks feasable at first glance, if you do the arithmatic you will find that 20 million x 1 million each is not 20 million but 20 million millions which is 20 trillion or 2 with 13 zero's behind it. That is a fair few of Pounds to find. It would probably cover a British County yards deep in £20 notes.
