What's the longest youv'e waited for a cheque from auctioneers when i sell lambs and ewes i get the cheque in less than a week . Took a dog to Sennybridge sheepdog sale on the 2nd of may and no cheque yet they only had 63 to sell some didn't sell so can't be too much paper work .I suppose nowadays most things happen quickly you expect it with everything ah well we'll see. And it cost £10.90 to cross the bridge in a VW caddy van

I'd be inclined to give them a call and see if it's been lost in the post.

Not animals but we sold some machinery through a neighbours farm sale a few years ago and we waited 10 weeks for the money. The story was that the auctioneers were waiting for the money from the people that bought the items. Strange then that the rules in the catalogue was full payment on the day only! So assuming it was all cheques it, then they would have cleared at 10 days later if not the standard 5 working day rule.

The excuses were unbelievable - not had money yet, paid from a different office, cheque on its way from one office to another for posting. I really lost my rag one day and the cheque appeared the next.

I sprayed a couple of fields of spring barley for a chap and invoiced it within a couple of months. I'm still waiting for the cheque.
This is since 1974 and the chap died about ten years ago. I wonder if he is rotting in Hell or relaxing in Heaven?
