According to numbers I have seen, there are representing the citizens of the UK: 646 Westminster MP's 60 Welsh Assembly Members 129 Scottish Assembly Members 87 MEP's Representing 60 million people. In the USA there are: 100 Senators 435 Members of the House of Representatives Representing 300 million people. It seems that US citizens are grossly under represented by their Government and I'm sure forum members will agree, unless they adopt the UK model, they will never truly experience the freedom of a real and vibrant democracy such as we have here ??

As an afterthought, a quick calculation I have made would indicate that to bring their Government up to UK standards they will need to appoint a further 400 Senators and around a further 1,800 Members in the House of Representatives. They will also of course need to appoint around an extra 3 million civil servants, to support these representatives of the people, but they could easily redeploy them from General Motors etc. This could all be funded with defence cuts by for example mothballing their Navy and getting their soldiers to purchase their own boots and rucksacks etc. Then they will be a true world class economy of the UK model. No more Boom and Bust !!
