Good Morning everyone . It's tipping it down here this morning and I'm telling myself that the ground needs it even if I don't. I think waterproofs will be the order of the day. Oh yippee doodle, we've now got thunder and lightening. Moved the cows and calves into a field nearer to the house at O/H's request yesterday. His reasoning being he'd never see them otherwise. The joys of a non-farming partner, I could keep pink elephants on the top fields and he'd never know. He does come in handy as a general labourer occasionally but a stockman....noooooooo! Whatever your doing today, have a good day and stay safe.

Morning all, awoke to lovely sound of rain hammering down and I had bedroom window open, luckily not much came in. We are having delivery of the 3 welsh cob foals my friend bought for me last year and we never got to pick up, only 7 months down the line, good job she is an old friend and didn't mind keeping them this long for me. Got to find somewhere to put them that isn't next to one of our 4 stallions, could be a problem, especially as yards not ready from being cleaned out, could be interesting.
Sun is just beginning to poke its head out, wellies were left outside and are soaked through so will send OH round the fields I think lol.
Have a happy safe Sunday everyone.

Good morning.
Wind has dropped and sun is shining between clouds. Hope we don't get the freezing showers of the last few days.
One of my cockerels has just attacked me, ungrateful beast as I saved his life last week when he was unwell. Perhaps he knows one of his relis is in the oven for lunch. If he doesn't behave he might be next as he's already flavoured with oregano.
Lambs will be due a worm dose and redo of spot on this week before being allowed into the moorfield.
Grass is growing well at last.
Gosh stockslave do you never have any help with your cows?
Have a restful Sunday if you can...... and fun with your foals Heather!

Gosh stockslave do you never have any help with your cows? Not unless I can manage to get a farming friend to help. O/H is more of a liability when it comes to any of the stock. He will drive the tractor in the winter when I'm strawing down, but I dread it, I have frequently told him he's trying to kill me off as he usually manages to get the cattle bashing bales right where I'm standing. Also refers to the sheep as "dirty, smelly wooly things". It's a lot safer, easier and less stressful to do it all myself. On the plus side, I can't be doing stock and cooking dinner so he gets relegated to the kitchen ;D.
