I agree, this was inevitable. A very troubled young lady, may she rest in peace.

This may not be the best place to post this....... but here goes. (Feel free to delete)
I have read/heard (as I have no doubt others have) an often heard expression in cases like this over the last couple of days:
'If her premature death helps to stop one individual not taking drugs then she has not died in vain'
Ok.... but what about the individuals who looked up to her and as a result of her success/fame etc thought that taking drugs was ok?

The trouble there Joyce is that a lot of the youth (and I'm not saying all of them) of today are easily led by media impressions. We see it time and again with young girls becoming anorexic because of models and that's how they perceive they ought to look, the same applies to icons behaviour, if the famous do it, then that's alright. They may well have a choice but children learn from their elders example.

If someone really thinks that being so ill and dying so young is OK, that has to be their choice It does, but having watched much the same sort of thing happening from a close but "safe" distance to someone else, I don't think she was having too bad a time at all by some measures. Quite a number of her relatives and friends went through hell though, and they are the ones I feel sorry for.

I'm sorry for any parent losing a child, her death has caused immense grief within her family, I guess. Amy's dead, so none of this affects her, does it!
I do worry for her goddaughter, though - already experiencing a lot of success at a very early age - hope Amy's death sends out all the correct warning signals to her.
