I know Off Topic on BFF ran a fantasy football league and I was wondering whether any of you would be interested in having a go at it on here? I understand it needs to be set up for August and you need to create a team. I know it's still some way off but if enough are interested, I'll have a go at setting it up.

The following is a message from Tom which I am copying and pasting as he will not have access to a computer until Monday: Hello, creating a fantasy league could not be easier and you don’t have to wait until August, have a try now then you will be well prepared for next season. First register at fantasy.premierleague.com/ (preferably before 11.00 on March 27th or you’ll miss a week) Then select Leagues and click on Create/Join If you put the code number 231426-86408 you will join the BFF league - but most of us have had 30 weeks start as you will see at fantasy.premierleague.com/M/table.mc?id=86408&phase=1 I can help set up your league if you wish but I’m sure Lynn can cope, Good Luck

Good morning all, I’ve finally made it into the turquoise room. I would encourage anyone to have a go at fantasy football, it is good fun and no knowledge of football required. It can get a bit addictive (when I saw Wayne Rooney limping off on the news last night my first thought was ‘I must get him sold before his price goes down’) so it is good there is a summer break but it is not too late to pick a team for the rest of this season to practice when we all start from scratch next August. In the BFF league Mike Abram of the FW is coming up with a good late run against last years winner while I’m in my usual mid-table battle with Skoda, a Carlos Tevez hat trick last week currently giving me the advantage. My son James’s insistence never to pick any player from Man Utd is costing him points. In the mother vs. son contest just below I see mother is currently leading by just five points. fantasy.premierleague.com/M/table.mc?id=86408

Good Afternoon Tom, good to see you've made it onboard I look forward to being educated in the finer art of fantasy football (although it might well be an uphill challenge, the only two footballers I know of are George Best and ofcourse David Beckham........but I couldn't tell you who they play for).

I look forward to being educated in the finer art of fantasy football (although it might well be an uphill challenge, the only two footballers I know of are George Best and of course David Beckham........but I couldn't tell you who they play for). That could be quite a challenge but not impossible. The first thing you need is a username, team name and a password and log in at www.fantasy.premierleague.com You will be asked to choose the colours for your team kit and other assorted questions which you can pass but then have to choose 15 players (2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfield, 3 strikers) from the lists provided. You are not allowed more than 3 from any club and your total purchases must not exceed £100m They will automatically choose a team for you if you wish and start changing from there (clicking on the headings ‘leaders’, ‘form’ and ‘value’ gives you a good indication of those who have performed best so far this season and avoid any that are injured or suspended as indicated by a red or orange symbol). There is info on every player and if you prefer you can just be guided by the photos (my son James rejected my suggestion of the excellent Jimmy Bullard on the grounds “he looks freaky”). It is worth keeping an eye on the league table to chose from the more successful clubs (although their players are usually dearer) and the ones with more games in hand (Tottenham, Man City, Aston Villa and Stoke) offer the more opportunities to pick up points. Good Luck
