I've seen the odd rose in December before - but not this year. However, unusually this Lupin is struggling on after the main plant got broke down in the wind about August. Also I left the wallflowers growing by this wall all summer and they are mostly just starting to flower again now. Not sure if this is an autumnal 2nd go or an early 'spring' display! At the end some calendula marigolds are still out too.

It's quite amazing. I was doing a bit of ploughing yesterday and noticed these in the hedge. I have never seen Hawthorn in flower at this time of year before although it seems the Glastonbury thorn flowers twice a year.
