Today started with a shower early on , with local weather forecast promising a mainly sunny day once this early rain had moved on, and sure enough some bright sunshine followed on, then around 9am the sky went very dark.

cor that rain came down hard!! its been dry as a bone in sussex last week or so.

You might think that was much more than an inch the way everywhere was swimming!
Have noticed here after getting the rain gauge - it's often very easily to be wildly wrong with estimates both ways.
