Good Morning everyone . What a beautiful dawn this morning. It's dry outside and a lot milder but there is quite a bit of cloud, so it remains to be seen whether or not we get more rain today. The barometer hasn't moved from yesterdays setting mid way between fair and change. Another set of twins arrived yesterday, and I'm coming to the conclusion that it's less tiring lambing one hundred ewes than it is the odd few. At least when there's more it seems as if your getting through them and your not standing around doing nothing whilst keeping an eye on one solitary ewe lambing. Whatever your doing today have a good day and stay safe.

Morning,
It's wet,wet,wet here!
All our cattle had been outside for a week, which has been good for them, but are now back inside.
Take care.

Morning all.
The sun is shining here, looks like another glorious day. We've not had much rain at all round here for quite a while, I'm not complaining but we do need some pretty soon....

Morning all - slow this morning! Mare is only moving along slowly and I was 99% certain she wouldn't foal last night but I still wake up, damn it! Vitnry coming this morning to open her up as have left it as long as I dare - haven't quite got the nerve yet to snip them just as they foal..
Raining here so am hoping several of the smaller jobs here will get done this morning that have had to wait while the ground work was getting done.
Agree with you re the lambing, stockslave - same here with calving recips if they have been done on natural heats - hate it as you've then got them calving one week then a gap of several weeks then another etc - much nicer when you've got a wodge of them all due in the same two weeks!! We're putting embryos in next Tuesday on a batch of ten possible recips, although I am certain two of them at least will be spun - probably three.
If you're on Facebook, stockslave, I'll be requesting as well!!!
Have a good day all!

Morning all, went to Holland last week for a few days & when I got back everyone had gone over to here & BFF had changed. Well it's wet here, must say we need it. Did my Bluetongue yesterday, get my vet to do it then if I have any animals to export I don't have to have them re-vaccinated by the vet. Had a visit from RPA on Tuesday, bit of a farce, over 3hrs, half an hour looking at the sheep & checking every tag so everything had to be brought in, then the rest of the time checking my movements, book & AML1 copies, luckily I had every copy for the last 3 years which they required, all this for 16acres & 51 sheep, what a waste of time, how long for a farmer with hundreds of sheep & cattle going to market regularly. Have a good day all & take care.
