As with a lot of things I come across on the internet, I'm not quite sure how I found this but there are quite a few nice stories of 'Weird Norfolk' on this page WEIRD NORFOLKAs you have a read, scroll down and you will find a few interesting stories such as: The fairy cow of South Lopham. Going from my childhood experience in South Norfolk, every village had its headless horseman somewhere or other, and almost every farm had a pond which was known to be a "bottomless pit". As for gretol black dawgs....

I think all the local papers have a treasure trove of similar tales archived. Sarah Walker is the daughter of 'Nicolas Rhea' (pseudonym) who wrote both book and some of TV Heartbeat series, and some Emmerdale storylines for YTV.He used to write a local interest column in local papers too having taken over from Major Fairfax Blakeborough who lived just across the dale here.
