Good Morning everyone . It's a beautiful morning out there today and don't the birds know it, the dawn chorus is a wonder to hear. Heard the first cuckoo yesterday and the swallows are back with a vengence, it seems spring is well and truly here. One of the suffolks decided to run the vet bill up yesterday, having been rather chuffed that they were managing quite well without intervention this year, she decided to have two large lambs the first of which was breech. I managed to extricate that one but the second had to go one better and stick its legs out but keeping its head down under its belly. Try as I might, it would not keep it's head in position. Pleased to report that the vet had the same trouble and needed an assistant to keep the legs in place while the head was held where it should be. I would never have got it out alive on my own. I wait with bated breath to see what the next one will do. Whatever your doing today, have a good day and stay safe.

To keep the head coming, I could only suggest trying to slip some baler twine round the back of lambs head, and over its ears, after you have pulled the head up into position, which is no easy task in such a tight space! Glad to hear you got it out safely. Bright morning here too, but more rain expected.

Morning all, glorious morning but I believe they are forecasting rain this afternoon for us, possibly. Swallows are back here as well , stood on the yard yesterday listening to a Skylark, magic, haven't heard a cuckoo here in the 10 years we've lived here. Have a good day everyone & take care.

Morning everyone - late on but have been busy doing yards as no help Fridays! Full equine yard too with colts in as well. Still, one with the foot abscess is sound now - need some help to hold him while I remove poultice late (it's on a hind hoof) and then they can go back out tomorrow!
More bedding up to do later but moved shackled cow and calf in with the others yesterday and that seems to be going well.
Beautiful here too - when I first moved here I used to hear the cuckoo but haven't for the past four or so years... Bluebells are starting to flower in the wood with that blue / green haze - bloody lovely !!
