I never joined YFC, but it always looked like an excuse to completely wreck a sea side resort to me. If that happened after a football match people would be jailed.

They were then banned from the town. Apparently they have been banned from most of the towns on the south coast. Shame all YFC members get tarred with the same brush though. At least Blackpool appreciates all the money that it brings in.

Someone told me today that apparently one of the problems in Torquay was that Young Farmers chose to skinny-dip in the fountains?

Back in torquay next year, they realised that although few idiots go to far the most members are wellish behaved and it generates a lot of money. Meant to be in minehead 2011, where ever that is?

Was supposedly banned from Torquay- although how a town council can ban a conference centre from taking business I'm not sure! There was an incident with some bitumen tar and a bowling green, but that's been rectified now I think- To be honest- having been in Blackpool for the weekend- can't help but notice how rough the other regulars are- can help but think YFC brings a touch of class to the place!

Well said. What people have to consider is the fact that the average age of the residents in some of these sleepy sea-side towns is about 108......they would therefore probably class "running along the sea front" as rowdy behaviour?? ;D I have no doubt that there are a tiny minority at these events that can spoil it for the rest! These individuals need to be sorted out by their club chairman, sorry, chair-person...or club leaders! I know when the Exeter group use to hold the Devon County Show dance in one of the Exeter nightclubs.....there was always trouble! The primary cause of this trouble were city yobs trying to gate crash the dance!!
