For those of you that don't visit BFF that often, I have just posted the following on there:
I've just been chatting to Bob and he is now suffering from water retention. His legs developed blisters which burst on Friday, he was taken into hospital on Sunday and released yesterday, sporting his (in Bob's words) 'Nora Batty stockings' he also tells me he is doing an impression of the 'Lynx advert man with the watery arms' and although his usual witty self the extra weight is making it painful. He has been put on tablets and is due to go back to the Doctor on Friday for pressure bandages to 'push it back where it came from'.
I will endeavour to speak to Bob after he has been to the Doctor's and will update you then. __________________

All the very best Bob and I hope his pain meds are working OK - he certainly has the most amazing mental strength.

I've just spoken to Bob and the Doctor has applied pressure pads and he has another appointment for Monday. His legs are itchy and sore but the Nora Batty's have been doing their job and they have dried up.

Thanks for the update. Bob, I know it's easy for us that have good health to say, but keep your spirits up, we can't possibly know how you are truly feeling but you always appear to face your problems courageously & without complaint, you have my thoughts & admiration at all times. Rose

Bob, I'm glad I'm not the only one to turn the telly off when there is a sound outside, I was thrilled to see a barn owl peeping out from a broken garage window just before Christmas, haven't seen one round by us for a while now but we do have tawny owls in our wood.

It's great to hear the owls round here both early in the morning and in the evenings too - glad you've got them to listen to, Bob.
Hope the legs are easing a little for you.
All best
Jules xx

I have taken the liberty of copying and pasting Bob's post on BFF. Unfortunately I am not able to speak to him at the moment as chat is not working on my facebook page. As someone who is an inspiration to us all, I felt this latest update should be included here:
Re: PM24 - Updated report (as of 04-07-2009)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have just gone trough a horrible fortnight my body suddenly decided to get large in the legs and stomach forming blisters that burst hence the nora battys stockings they still not gone down but the blisters are mending because maureen and the nurse have made a good job of the bandages which has helped but the pain i just wanted it gone to date i cannot get my shoes on so had to buy size 14 to be able to keep going and boy are they dear price my breathing is becoming harder so trying to get from a to b is getting hard the funney thing is that it is not my lungs it is my airways trying to strangle me when i am exhausted so itr is frigtening to maureen and me all the rest is slowing down which does not help i am writinmg a sort of book about the last nine years which is slow work but hopedfully help others in the same perdicatment when i have gone and hopefully finish it __________________ never put off till tomorrow what you can do today
