Let out in the paddock while their barn was having a clean out and fresh straw put down. So you thought we were filthy before we went out........

Your dairy heifer is looking on in disgust ;D or is it a bit of jealousy?

Ooh, aren't you a funny colour! You remind me of a chess board Latest arrivals born yesterday and today. Considering the mothers look like peas in a pod and it's the same bull called Dinton Nautical you would wonder how that happened. Both are heifers so have a decent chance of being kept on as cows.

I'm no judge of cattle, but those two little girls look nice and solid.

They're grand calves, aren't they - you must be pleased with them, 4wd - what are the mums ? They look very much like our Limx recips. I always have the same thoughts about those when they calve in with a ped Blue, especially if they end up with a white calf - do you think they ever wonder ??

Yes they're LimX out of our Friesians. Although I think my best calves are Lims out of SimX crosses the Limousin cows seem very tough, easy calving and have good feet.

What crackers, I get some very similar colours and patterns as those two out of Blonde on Sim or Hex mothers, weird. The Senator/Protector needs a wash

The Senator/Protector needs a wash I washed it once and the belts got wet and it would not move. This was inconvenient since it was blocking the milk tanker access.

We used to wash the morning of the last day as it were, should at least dry quick. Never bother now either

Ah, thought they might be! Before the dairy herd ran Blues, they ran a couple of Lim bulls and so most of our first batches of recips were Limx that were kept 'close' so they would b less wild - which worked in the main. We've had several that have calved their ped embryos naturally and still have three left. The oldest one, known as Girlfriend, didn't take an embryo last time so ran with the Blue stock bull and is due in June. She's a pet now.....

Those are some great calves with their mothers 4wd, at least it's easy to tell who belongs to who. The cow below is Naomi, a black Lim. On the 9th of April she gave birth to this calf In 2010 this was her calf (pictured later in the year) both by the same bull. By the way whats the Massey in your photo 4wd.
