Just been looking at the Random Cattle vids also. Nothing much beats new born calves for me. Had 17 this week all times of day and night, 9 of them on Wednesday. I think I've got 27 left now and five or six are very close.

That's some going, WR, surprised you have escaped to here so often

It is funny how you worry so much about the first 2 or 3 but soon get into a routine and they mostly get on with it with minimal interference. (only have about half that many here though - and over a longer period too due to using AI)

That's some going, WR, surprised you have escaped to here so often I can watch them on the tv bloody marvelous Still plenty of work after they've calved though, making sure they get their colostrom and are sucking properly before going out.

Another rather wet afternoon but must say the grass seems to be holding out better than you'd think as the sward is much thicker than earlier on when everywhere seemed to get covered in mud. Two heifers due next Feb, however one I just suspected of being bulling this morning but nothingto see this evening so will keep for now. Some of the calves looking content.

Not far from doing that here, then we get a decent day like today when it is drying up and can almost see things growing. Then next day is lashing down again usually!
