Looks like the Chinese authorities know how to deal with some o these extremists that seem hell bent on taking over the world!! Just a hint of irony about it though?
Maybe the British Police that were on the streets of Luton, when our brave men & women paraded down the streets after returning home from active service, need to take note of how to deal with the real trouble makers?
And no, I am not a communist either...before the usual suspects start with their nonsense!

I think the majority of us would prefer a democracy if it's all the same to you.

I wonder when or if we will get a democracy here.

Granted, although one day every five years with governments who pretty much do as they please and carry on even when the whole country is in a disgusting state isn't my idea of democracy or a lot of other peoples it would seem.

Can I ask, if this is a democracy and not a dictatorship why have we a prime minister who was never voted into the position in the first place? And why are the majority of our governing bodies corrupt?

At least you did get the chance to vote for them though Dave, and will have the chance to vote them out in the not too distant future, the chinese don't have that chance with their rulers, you're also allowed to say pretty much what you like on the internet, (or in real life), within reason, something you wouldn't be doing in china. democracy UK style may not be perfect, far from it, but i'll take it over the alternative every time.
Just as would take our police over the chinese authorities every time.
On another note, I'd politely suggest that Phil might want to do a little research into the nature of the ethnic unrest between Uighurs and Han Chinese in Xinjiang province before he goes off on one about 'muslim extremists' yet again.
In this case the indigenous poulation are muslims, being colonised by the chinese.

And why are the majority of our governing bodies corrupt? We don't vote for the prime minister, we vote for a constituency MP who represents a particular party. Churchill didn't come to power by winning an election, he succeded Chamberlain on his resignation, (Chamberlain wasn't elected either)

In this case the indigenous population are muslims, being colonised by the chinese. Have to say I agree . This is like the situation in Tibet where the indigenous people (the Uighurs) want self rule from a race of people (the Han Chinese) who rule over them and suppress they're religion, culture and language. I really cannot blame them and cannot condem them, and just because they are Muslims protesting does not make them extremists. Which race of people would not fight to keep they're language ,religion and culture .People are rightly complaining about the high level of immigration into Britain , but it's nothing compared to the amount of Han that have been moved into the Uighurs country to outnumber them and minorise them.
